Skin concerns are not always just skin.

Skin concerns are not always just skin.

Skin concerns are not always  just skin.

Sometimes they are signals of an underlying medical or systemic issue that needs proper assessment.

When to seek medical care?

You should seek medical advice if any of the following are present:

When acne is severe, painful, or scarring?

Nodules, cysts, deep lesions, or acne that is leaving scars or dark marks despite treatment.

When acne is sudden in adulthood?

New-onset acne after age 25, especially if it appears quickly or is worsening, may indicate hormonal, metabolic, or medication-related causes.

When breakouts are cyclical and resistant to treatment?

Especially jawline, chin, and neck acne that flares monthly and does not respond to professional protocols.

When there are additional hormonal symptoms?

Irregular periods, heavy bleeding, excess facial hair, hair thinning, weight gain, fatigue, or mood changes may indicate endocrine imbalance (such as PCOS or thyroid dysfunction).

When the skin is persistently inflamed or painful?

Burning, stinging, oozing, crusting, or skin that cannot tolerate basic products may indicate eczema, contact dermatitis, rosacea, or autoimmune skin conditions.

When there are systemic symptoms?

Digestive issues, bloating, fatigue, brain fog, headaches, joint pain, or unexplained weight changes alongside skin issues.

When there are signs of infection?

Spreading redness, warmth, pus, fever, or pain should always be assessed urgently.

When pigmentation changes suddenly or irregularly?

Rapid darkening, irregular borders, or non-healing lesions must be medically checked.

When a client is pregnant, breastfeeding, or on prescription medication?

Certain treatments and ingredients are not suitable and require medical guidance.

We work holistically and support skin health, but we do not diagnose medical conditions. When your skin is giving signals that go beyond surface care, the safest and most effective step is to involve your GP or dermatologist so we can work alongside them.
