Adelina’s Recovery Principles

Adelina’s Recovery Principles

Don’t Ignore Your Feet — Strength Starts There

Most people overlook their feet, but they’re the foundation of your entire body. Weak or tight foot muscles can lead to pain that travels up to your knees, hips, and even your back. Daily exercises such as rolling a tennis ball under your arch, toe curls, or heel raises can significantly improve stability and posture.

Pain Isn’t Always Where the Problem Is

Where you feel pain isn’t always where the issue originates. For example, hip tightness may stem from weak glutes or poor foot alignment. I assess the body as a whole to trace the root cause of discomfort, not just treat the symptoms.

Your Sleep Position Matters

If you wake up feeling stiff or sore, your sleep posture might be contributing. Try placing a pillow between your knees if you sleep on your side, or under your knees if you sleep on your back. These small adjustments can help reduce strain on your lower back and hips.

Massage Works Best When It’s Part of a Routine

One massage session can provide relief, but lasting change comes from consistency. Regular treatments combined with simple home care exercises support long-term progress, not just temporary improvement.

Stretch Less, Move More — Especially After Massage

After a massage, muscles are more pliable. Instead of static stretching, gentle movements like walking or light mobility exercises help your body integrate the treatment more effectively and maintain the benefits longer.

Hydration Helps Recovery

Staying well hydrated after your massage supports the body’s natural detoxification process. It helps flush out metabolic waste released during treatment and promotes faster tissue recovery.

Check Your Shoes

Foot, knee, and back discomfort often stems from poor footwear. Shoes with overly soft soles or worn-out support can contribute to imbalances and pain. Well-fitted, supportive footwear plays a critical role in structural health.

Pain That Comes and Goes Isn’t Normal

Intermittent pain or recurring tension is your body’s way of signalling that something needs attention. Addressing the issue early on prevents it from becoming chronic, saving time, money, and discomfort in the long run.

Recovery Is Just as Important as Treatment

Healing happens between sessions, not just during them. That’s why I always provide clients with personalised home care plans. The way you move, rest, and care for your body between treatments directly impacts your progress.

Shoulder Pain Isn’t Just a Shoulder Problem

Shoulder pain is often linked to issues in the upper back, neck, or posture. Strengthening the muscles around your shoulder blades is essential for long-term relief and stability.

Arch Support Isn’t Just About Looks

Shoes may appear supportive but still lack the necessary internal structure. Without proper arch support, your feet work harder than they should, often resulting in calf tightness, knee issues, and hip imbalances over time.

Support Isn’t a Substitute for Strength

While orthotics, braces, or cushioned shoes can offer short-term relief, relying on them without addressing muscle weakness may lead to dependency. True recovery and resilience come from building internal strength.
