A healthier You .

A healthier You .

September is a great month to give yourself some attention and time . If you have any underlying health concerns, gut issues, tiredness , sleep concerns etc etc - booking a detailed consultation with EdelleO’Doherty -Nutritional therapist & Functional Medicine Practitioner will set you up with a clear roadmap of how to address your symptoms.

Call reception on 012300244/012300255 to book a consultation with Edelle .

Functional Medicinefor complex pre-existing conditions that have not been helped via orthodox medical treatment alone. For those whose symptoms are complex and often unexplained. Those symptoms that need thorough investigation and testing and specialised dietary and lifestyle interventions.

A 90-minute initial consultation followed by follow-up consultations (60 minutes) as agreed.

Prior to your initial consultation you complete a very detailed intake form which your practitioner will spend time analysing before you meet. We prepare a Functional Medicine (FM) Timeline and Matrix of your health.
During the consultation we will spend time discussing your entire life experience from pre-birth to today and help you gain insight into what predispositions, conditions, environments, and choices throughout your life may have contributed to the development of the symptoms you are currently experiencing. We fill in as much detail together on your FM Timeline as we can.

We fill in as much detail as we can on your FM Matrix to really complete a deep dive into your bodily systems and which ones may be imbalanced and need the most support. We also complete an extensive analysis of Modifiable Lifestyle Factors – nutrition, exercise & movement, sleep & relaxation, stress, relationships & networks.

We may also recommend some functional testing and supportive supplementation.

Functional Medicine aims to investigate and address root causes of chronic disease and ill-health. These can and often are, multifactorial for every individual. We look for and address root causes, optimise diet, lifestyle and nutrient status and support mental, emotional and physical health.

You will get an outline of your roadmap to wellness, clarity on your goals, the steps necessary to achieve them, and potential obstacles you may encounter on your journey

PLUS a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan, a recommended supplementation plan and testing recommendations to investigate further underlying root causes of your symptoms.

PLUS with the timeline and matrix we take into account everything that may be affecting your past, current and future health including genetics, lifestyle, nutrition, microbiome health, immune health, structure, energy, toxicity, hormone and neurotransmitter balance, hidden infections, environment, thought processes, trauma, relationships, connection, and community. You gain clarity on your symptoms and where they may have stemmed from. You gain an understanding of the multifactorial nature of all illness and disease and where to start when coping with a complex illness.

Edelle O’Doherty established Knowledge4Health to provide a service to those who were finding no answers in the mainstream medical system and were seeking additional support. Having lost her mother and husband to cancer and having a brother with a traumatic brain injury, her drive is to turn the current medical model on its axis and through Functional Medicine prevent the onset of chronic disease and mental health symptoms, with a whole person, holistic approach.

Edelle is trained in Functional Medicine with the Institute for Functional Medicine, is a Registered Nutritional Therapist, andholds a postgraduate diploma in Statistics and a degree in Chemistry from Trinity College, Dublin

Her special areas of interest are epigenetics, microbiome health, metabolic health, and toxicity and how they influence the development of chronic illness, but especially how they influence the brain and brain health.

She has trained with Prof. Dale Bredesen in the Bredesen Protocol for the prevention of Alzheimer’s disease and has completed ‘Mastering Brain Chemistry’ training with Dr. William Walsh at the Walsh Research Institute.

Edelle has also completed training with Dr. Gabor Maté in Compassionate Inquiry, a psychotherapeutic approach which enables the client to recognise the unconscious dynamics that run their lives and how to liberate themselves from them

Our philosophy

Functional Medicine practitioners are experts in supporting those with various health conditions from brain health concerns, to chronic digestive conditions, skin concerns, allergies and autoimmune diseases. We work to bring your body back to balance through a number of modalities including nutrition, targeted supplementation, lifestyle changes and compassion for the psychological and autonomic root causes of illness.

Knowledge4Health provides highly qualified practitioners who practice an evidence-based approach using a Functional Medicine based model. We look at the whole person and not just a set of symptoms. We take into account everything that may be affecting your past, current and future health including genetics, lifestyle, nutrition, hidden infections, environment, thought processes, trauma, relationships, connection, and community. Whether you are struggling with a current health issue or looking to optimise your health and future-proof it, we will deliver a programme specific to you.

Prevention of disease is one of the driving factors behind the establishment of Knowledge4Health and we provide exceptional support for those who wish to be proactive about their future health.
