Sinusitis is an inflammation of the nasal sinuses Sinusitis can either be acute or chronic. Acute Sinusitis is frequently caused by a bacterial or viral infection of the nose , throat & upper respiratory tract , such as the common cold . 

 



Air travel can also cause acute inflammation of the sinuses because of changes in air pressure. 


Chronic sinusitis can be caused by injury to the nasal bones , small benign growths in the nasal passages. Dental complications, air pollution, exposure to allergens. 

Allergic Sinusitis may be caused by food allergies, perfumes , air fresheners, etc . 

Associated post nasal drip can cause sore throat, nausea, difficulty breathing, bad breath. 

Nutrients 

  • Acidophilus- replaces good bacteria in the colon . Particularly important if antibiotics are prescribed. 

  • Bee Pollen - helps boost immunity & speeds healing . Start with 1/2 teaspoon daily . Increase slowly- add to juice or water . Discontinue if rash , wheezing occurs as be pollen can occasionally cause allergies.

  • Flaxseed oil - reduces pain & inflammation.
