Why is daily sun protection so important?

Skin ageing is 93% sun damage. The sun damages our skin every day, all year round – even on the cloudiest of days. Sun and environmental damage are associated with 93% of skin ageing. Wearing daily sun protection is essential in maintaining your clients’ skin health and helping to prevent premature skin ageing. Bride and Groom Skincare Tips

Radiance on the big day is what every bride  and groom wants. Results are dependent on  having excellent results driven skincare. You need to start at least six months before your big day.   Everyone’s skin is different so everyone’s regimen will be different and dependent on what is most important for them – firming, elimination of fine lines and so on.As for injectables, such as botulinum or fillers, if you’ve never used them, 6-8 months before the wedding is the time to start them. If you use them regularly, aim to have a treatment no later than a month before the day.   In the final weeks, use a weekly face mask such as the SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective Masque, which is hydrating, calming and restores radiance. If you are prone to the odd pimple use a clay mask directly on the blemish to heal it.   What about the other areas of skin on show in a wedding dress, the décolletage and neck?   The face and neck as a single unit and treat them the same. AHAs that are suitable for your face, also ok  for your neck, particularly if you are worried about pigmentation. Don’t use chemical peels or retinol in the week before the wedding because it may cause flaking or drying, which will affect the look of your make-up.If you are using a make-up artist, don’t let them use products, such as a primer, that they haven’t allowed you to trial in advance. It’s not the time to discover that you are allergic to a particular product. Some people say don’t use mineral sunscreens on your face because they make you look a bit chalky in photos. Use a sunscreen that’s appropriate for sensitive skin, such as SkinCeuticals Sheer Mineral UV Defence. The weeks leading up to a wedding are some of the most stressful in your life, so not surprising that you break out in a rash or get a big shiny spot. If you normally use SkinCeuticals Phyto Corrective, it will help calm and hydrate your skin as it has a good content of hyaluronic acid along with antinflammatory properties.

Antioxidants help to protect against Free Radical damage.

Latest News – May 03, 2020

Antioxidants help to protect against Free Radical damage.

Free radicals are unstable molecules that can cause damage to our cells. What makes them unstable is that they are missing electrons from their outer shell. This causes them to search for other atoms or molecules that have these electrons, in order for them to feel whole again and become stable. Due to their reactive nature, free radicals can wreak havoc on your skin and other cells in their quest to find an electron and feel whole again. In order to stabilise themselves, free radicals try to bond to other atoms or molecules.

Is technology ageing your skin ?

Technology can damage your skin.Blue light, also known as HEV (High Energy Visible Light) is naturally emitted from the sun, it is also produced from our digital devices, phones, computers, etc. Like UVA and UVB light, blue light can contribute to premature skin ageing, and, studies show that adults are spending a significant amount of time using digital devices. Blue light is not only affecting our skin, but it’s also having a negative impact on our sleep. By disrupting our natural circadian rhythm; Blue light in the form of daylight wakes us in the morning but being exposed to a significant amount of blue light before bed can make it harder to get to sleep as the blue light at night keeps you more alert.
